work

When I was the perfect age for glue sticks my dad let me help finish up layout for the camera. I loved using the same gluestick I used at school to do big peoples work, I also liked the precision it took to line up the text perfectly straight with the blue lines that would not be visible to the plate camera.

This early experience lead me to join the high school year book for several of my high school years. High school year books in the late 90s were an odd mix of the old and the new, some good old fashion gluesticks, and some pages painstakenly laid out in PageMaker on one of the two computers available.

After school I went into marketing and print design, but web was being requested more and more, so I adapted. I taught myself HTML, CSS, Javascript (this was pre JQuery), and PHP and started building websites along with my other skills. I became a web accessibility subject matter expert, speaking on the subject several times in the Nashville developement community.

After years of experience in design and development of websites and applications, I transfered to a business analyst and project management role. Here I get to use my extensive multi-discipline experience to manage projects and launch products.

I'm currently the Chief Technology Officer of a small specialized startup, which takes the majority of my time. I also have C&E Designs for interesting projects as time allows - there are many more interesting projects than there is time.
